  • 1200 g Groenbone
  • 4 teelepel Sout
  • 5 teelepel Salt / no typo
  • 1500 ml water
  • 250 ml Tafelasyn
  • 6 stukkie Uie
  • 6 eetlepels Suiker fyn
  • 6 teelepel Geel mosterdsaadjies
  • 1 teelepel Gemaalde peper wit
  • 3 teelepel Fyn gekapte sout
  • 4 teelepel Gekapte dille

  • Wash the beans well and drain them in the sieve. Cut off the ends and remove any threads that may be present (we don't have any threads).
  • Bring the water to a boil in a large saucepan with 4 teaspoons of salt and add the beans. Let the whole thing simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Pour the beans into a colander and rinse in cold water. This will keep the color and stop the cooking process. Drain well.
