Arugula – The Tart Among The Salads

Arugula (also called rocket) is an annual herb that grows up to 75 cm high. The pinnate leaves are reminiscent of the green of radishes or radishes.

Origin

The cultivation area of ​​arugula used to extend from the southern Mediterranean to Afghanistan. In Rome, arugula was a well-known and popular herb. Today rocket is mainly grown in Italy, France, and Germany.

Season

Arugula is available all year round – from local outdoor cultivation from April to October.

Arugula tastes slightly nutty to spicy to peppery.

Use

Storage

Arugula can be kept for 1 to 2 days in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator, in a foil bag, or in a bowl. It is not suitable for freezing.
