Baking: Vanilla Plait
The perfect baking: vanilla plait recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Flour
- 50 g Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 0,5 tsp Grated orange peel
- 3 tbsp Peeled hemp seeds
- Alternatively, chopped nuts or almonds
- 100 ml Milk lukewarm
- 0,5 Yeast cubes
- 40 g Butter
- Milk
- 1 packet Bourbon vanilla flavor
- Mix the flour, sugar, salt, orange peel and hemp seeds.
- Dissolve the yeast in the milk, then add the butter and dissolve as well. Add this liquid and the vanilla flavor to the dry ingredients and knead everything thoroughly.
- Now cover and leave in a warm place (e.g. on the heater) for about 1 hour until the volume has roughly doubled.
- Then knead again and divide equally sized parts. Roll these 30-35cm long strands. Make a braid from the strands. Place this on a baking sheet.
- Let rise for another 30-40 minutes. Then brush with milk.
- Wet all sides (+ bottom) of the oven with a flower sprayer or similar.
- Put in the baking tray with the braid and bake at 180 ° C for about 25-30 minutes.
