Beef Meatballs in Red Wine Sauce

Ingredients
 

For the meatballs

  • 700 g Ground beef
  • Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • Salt, pepper from the mill
  • Chilli from the mill

For the sauce

  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • 3 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 500 ml Beef broth
  • 250 ml Red wine
  • Salt, pepper from the mill
  • Chilli from the mill
  • Thyme

Instructions
 

Preparation of the meatballs

  • Peel the onion and garlic and cut into small cubes. Put the ground beef in a bowl and mix well with the egg, onion, garlic, mustard, salt, milled pepper, milled chilli and breadcrumbs. Form small meatballs and fry in a pan with oil. Take out the meatballs and use the pan to prepare the sauce.

Preparation of the sauce

  • Peel the onion and garlic and cut into small cubes. Braise both in the pan. Add tomato paste and sauté with it. Now season with salt, pepper from the mill and chilli.
  • Now deglaze the whole thing with the red wine and let it boil down. After 10 minutes add the beef broth and boil down again over low heat for 10 minutes. Now put the meatballs in the sauce and simmer for another 15 minutes. Season again to taste before serving.
  • There was mashed potatoes with leeks and savoy cabbage vegetables. Good Appetite.
