Beer Lovers Live Longer: Drinking Frothy Beer is Recommended Every Day, But Not for Everyone

Admit it, almost everyone has tried beer in their lives. The frothy drink perfectly quenches thirst, helps to relax after a hard day’s work, and brightens up a vacation with friends or family.

But not everyone is aware that beer, in addition to good emotions, can be harmful or beneficial to the body.

Beer lovers live longer

Moderate beer consumption is good for you. More and more medical studies show that if you don’t drink at all, it’s also bad for you. According to numerous independent studies, moderate drinkers live longer and better than binge drinkers or teetotalers.

Beer is ideal for moderate consumption due to its lower alcohol content compared to wine or spirits.

  • Healthy heart. A study has shown that beer is good for the heart. Drinking an average of two glasses a day reduces the risk of a heart attack. Moreover, people who had a heart attack lived 20 years longer if they regularly drank beer than those who were clean.
  • Nutrients. Beer contains more protein and vitamin B than grape wine. The frothy drink contains antioxidants that protect against many diseases.
  • Lower risk of diabetes. Beer reduces the risk of diabetes. A study involving more than 7,000 people concluded that people who drink about 14 glasses of beer a week are less likely to get diabetes.

A fly in the ointment in a glass of beer

Beer can be harmful because of the alcohol it contains. Even though some reports suggest that moderate alcohol consumption protects against depression, it’s best not to start if you don’t drink.

Beer can make you grow a belly, but it won’t be a special beer belly, it will be an ordinary belly. This happens when you eat and drink more than you burn.

Regular and uncontrolled consumption of beer (as well as other alcoholic beverages) causes structural changes in the body, tissue degeneration, and atrophy: the phenomenon of a “bull’s heart”, hormonal changes, liver cirrhosis, persistent dilation of facial vessels (especially nasal vessels)

Who should not drink beer?

Beer can cause an increase in blood sugar levels, and in a state of hunger, lead to an instant spike in insulin levels. Doctors advise people with diabetes to give up beer. In addition, the drink is not recommended for people who want to lose weight, as it contains 100-200 calories.

People with irritable bowel syndrome should also give up beer, as the drink can cause bloating, gas, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. People who suffer from heartburn, cirrhosis, viral hepatitis, or autoimmune diseases should not drink beer either.
