How to Cook Dumplings so They Don’t Boil and Don’t Stick: A Culinary Trick

Even experienced cooks sometimes have difficulties with cooking dumplings: they stick together in one big lump or fall apart on the dough and stuffing. Here are 4 cooking tricks that make sure the dumplings are always juicy and successful.

Soak the dumplings

To make dumplings juicy after cooking, you can soak them before cooking. Put them in water at room temperature and leave for 2 minutes. Then transfer to boiling salted water and cook until tender.

Pour in the sunflower oil

After adding the dumplings to the water, pour 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil into the pot. And don’t forget to stir the dumplings as they cook. Then they are sure not to stick. The trick is also useful when boiling dumplings.

Reduce the heat

Once the dumplings have floated to the surface of the water, lower the fire under the pot. Then the products will not fall apart after boiling. Cooking time will be longer this way.

Add cold water

As soon as the water with the dumplings begins to boil, add a glass of cold water to the pan. After that, boil the products for another 5-6 minutes. The dumplings after boiling will be a perfect consistency: dense and juicy. Cold water also preserves the aesthetic appearance of the dumplings: the dough does not crack.
