How To Know When It’s Time to Change Your Frying Pan: Throw it Away if You Notice it

In today’s world, it is difficult to imagine the process of cooking without nonstick-coated cookware. However, not all housewives know how often you need to change a nonstick pan, although it is very important. It turns out that such kitchen utensils are not eternal.

How to understand that it’s time to change the pan – the main signs

In fact, everything is simple. To understand when you need to change the frying pan, you need to remember the main feature of such dishes. Frying pans with non-stick coating are made to ensure that when cooking the food does not stick. But over time, the special coating can splinter, and thin out.

When you see that the food has begun to stick, and the pan itself – has an unpleasant smell, it is time to change it. To prolong the life of the coating, try not to scratch it with sharp objects, and use wooden, plastic, or silicone spatulas, then your kitchen helper will stay without damage even longer.

How long can you use a frying pan – important to remember

Manufacturers may claim that non-stick pans can be used for decades, but this is not true. Many people don’t know how often a frying pan needs to be changed, and are therefore greatly disappointed when their favorite cookware suddenly begins to smoke, or food burns to it. This problem can be avoided by changing pans on time.

Experts believe that regular nonstick pans, on average, should not be used for more than 1-2 years. If you bought a product with a reinforced nonstick coating, then it can last longer, about 2 to 5 years.

In general, such kitchen utensils is not worth saving. Good pans with nonstick coating can’t be cheap. More budget options need to be changed even more often than quality ones.
