In addition, the plum puree without sugar is much healthier than the conventional version. So there are many good reasons to give this recipe a try.
Ingredients For 6 People
You will need:
- 3 kg plums
- 1 TSP. cinnamon
- 0,3 TSP cloves
- 1 piece vanilla pod
Preparation
- Plums, ovenproof dish
Wash, quarter, and pit the plums. Then place the plums in an ovenproof dish. - Cinnamon, cloves, vanilla pod
Spread the cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla pulp over them. The latter is scraped out of the vanilla bean and cut open lengthwise. Place the roasting pan in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius or 180 degrees Celsius convection oven for two hours. Important: During the entire cooking time, place a cooking spoon in the oven door. This allows the moisture to escape. - Blender, preserving jar
After the cooking time, remove the roaster from the oven and puree the thick mixture with a blender until the desired consistency is reached. Then, while still hot, the plum puree can be poured into sterilized preserving jars, sealed, and turned upside down to cool.
Instead of plums, the elongated plums can also be used for the puree. For one thing, the flesh is easier to remove from the pit, and for another, the plums taste deliciously sweet. The finished plum or damson puree is not only delicious on bread and rolls but can also be used as a sweetening ingredient, for example in sugar-free chocolate cake.
