Put This on the Sole of Your Shoes to Keep Them from Slipping in the Ice: 6 Tips

No matter what time of year the ice comes – it always happens unexpectedly. And until the utilities sprinkle all the dangerous areas, pedestrians have to find a way out on their own. To walk on the ice confidently and safely, craftsmen have come up with several secrets for the shoes. Use them yourself and do not forget to treat the child’s shoes, so they too were safe on the ice.

Band-Aid

An ordinary medical cloth band-aid will help you a lot on the ice since it’s completely non-slip on ice. Simply stick two long strips of a band-aid on the sole, the entire length of the shoe. This method is very effective but does not last long. The band-aid quickly peels off the sole, especially in wet weather.

Sandpaper

Sandpaper is an excellent abrasive material that will provide the shoe with stability on the ice. Sandpaper can be glued to the sole with superglue – then it will last about a week on the shoe. You can also rub sandpaper on the sole. This is a more long-term method, but it can damage the shoe.

Pieces of felt

First, you need to get unwanted pieces of felt, such as old felt boots. Using glue, glue the felt to the shoe and wait until it dries completely. Then you can go out – even in the strongest ice shoes will not slide. Note the weather – felt can come off because of moisture or wet snow.

Glue and sand

You can make an abrasive coating for the sole yourself with sand and glue. To do this, draw a mesh of any glue on the sole and sprinkle dry sand on it. This is a very effective and very durable method. Its significant disadvantage is that grains of sand may fall off the shoes at home and dirty the room.

Loopholes

At markets and in stores of household goods you can buy special skids, which are put on the shoes and have special spikes against slipping. They are inexpensive, but they are very helpful in slippery weather. This product will definitely be useful in the house. Be sure to try on the lepidote before buying – you should not buy them blindly.

Socks

If the ice covers the road unexpectedly and you still need to safely get home – remember the tiphak with socks. Take your socks off your feet and pull them over your shoes. You may look funny that way, but you won’t slip. And if it’s late at night, no one will even notice the socks on your shoes.

Professional treatment of the soles.

In order not to spoil your shoes and not slip in winter – give your shoes to professional shoemakers. They can deepen the tread on the sole or make a special coating, so the shoes are sure not to slip.
