You Can’t Tell the Difference in Taste: How to Replace Bread in Cutlets on a Budget

Juicy and tasty cutlets are impossible to imagine without quality mincemeat, warm milk, and a soft bun. However, sometimes it happens that the right piece of bread is not available, and the process has already begun.

What can be put in minced meat for cutlets instead of bread – options

Absolutely all housewives know that bread gives the cutlets puffiness and makes them more filling. The dish turns out caloric, but tasty, although for its preparation the bread is not necessary at all. It can easily be replaced with other products:

  • semolina;
  • starch;
  • raw potatoes;
  • Rye or wheat flour;
  • Grated carrots, cabbage, or zucchini;
  • barley grits.

There is another option that can be used instead of bread for tasty cutlets. This is regular oatmeal – with it, the dish will turn out no less tender, but more useful.

Cutlets without bread with oatmeal – a recipe

If you do not know what you can add to cutlets for juiciness, except onions, then try to cook them with oatmeal – a treat will be dietary.

For cooking you will need:

  • chicken eggs – 2 pcs;
  • oatmeal – 150 gr;
  • chicken filet or minced meat – 200 gr;
  • spices.

Whip the chicken fillet with a blender or pass it through a meat grinder (if you bought minced meat, you don’t need to do anything). Add boiled oats, spices, and eggs to the meat. Mix everything thoroughly, form cutlets, and fry in a pan until tender. You can also use the oven – place the meat cakes on a baking tray and bake for 30 minutes at 180°C.
