Ingredients

  • 250 g Butter
  • 80 g Extra fine sugar
  • 1 Vanilla sugar
  • 300 g Sifted flour
  • 100 g Coconut flakes
  • 50 g Ground almonds
  • 50 g Chopped almonds
  • 1 tube Butter and almond flavor
  • 1 tube Extra fine sugar for rolling

Instructions

  • Put all ingredients except the sugar in a mixing bowl (the butter in small pieces) and work through with the dough hook until everything is crumbly. Then knead and work by hand until a smooth short dough is formed. Wrap in foil and leave to rest in the refrigerator (preferably overnight).
  • Cut the dough into 4 parts, quarter each part again and knead, then shape into a roll using a little flour (so that the dough does not stick) and divide each roll into 6 parts. Shape the small pieces of dough into rolls with floured hands and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (hot air). Bake the butter balls for 25 minutes and toss them in fine sugar immediately when they are still hot. This recipe made exactly 96 pieces.
  • I got the recipe from my granddaughter Michelle, which proves once again that you can still learn something from very young people, even as very old, experienced grandmothers! Thank you Michelle !!
