Cherry Groats
The perfect cherry groats recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 g Cherries fresh
- 60 g Sugar
- 150 ml Water
- 10 g Food starch
- Halve the cherries (I use sweet cherries because we have so many in summer, they taste just as delicious as with sour cherries!) And pit them. Warning: mess: D
- Bring the pitted cherries to the boil with the water and the sugar and simmer for about 5 minutes until the cherries are a little soft, but not too soft so that it does not become slush.
- Mix the cornstarch in a little cold water and use it to thicken the cherries and let them cool.
