Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: Quick and Easy to Make Yourself

Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture: Preparation

With the cinnamon-sugar mixture, it is important to choose the right sugar and cinnamon and to find the right ratio.

  • The standard ratio for the mix is ten tablespoons of sugar and one tablespoon of ground cinnamon. Of course, you can adjust the ratio according to your own preference.
  • Both white and brown are suitable for the sugar. If you are diabetic, you can use a sugar substitute. Birch sugar and erythritol are ideal for this.
  • You can use Cassia cinnamon or Ceylon cinnamon as cinnamon. The former is slightly cheaper, but it contains coumarin, which is harmful if you take it in large amounts.
  • Ceylon cinnamon is therefore the better choice for more frequent consumption of cinnamon.
  • Incidentally, you can make the mixture durable by adding a cinnamon stick to the storage container.

Different variations

In addition to the standard mixture of cinnamon and sugar, you can spice it up with other spices.

  • So you can mix in vanilla sugar for a lovely sweet taste. Do not use the entire packet of vanilla sugar at once, but test the sweetness of the mixture little by little.
  • You can achieve a particularly intense note by adding chili. It is best to start with a pinch of chili powder to test how spicy the mixture is.
  • You can gradually add more chili if you like.
