Classic Vanilla Crescents

The perfect classic vanilla crescents recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Flour
  • 180 g Cold butter
  • 100 g Ground almonds
  • 90 g Sugar
  • 30 g Powdered sugar
  • 2 packet Vanilla sugar
  1. Put the flour, sugar, ground almonds and vanilla sugar in a mixing bowl and mix together. Add the crushed butter and the pulp of the vanilla pod as well.
  2. Knead everything together in the bowl by hand to form dough. Then finish kneading on the work surface. Shape two thick sausages and place in a bag in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  3. After half an hour, knead the dough again, pluck small pieces of dough and shape into a ball. Roll the ball between the palms of the hands until we have a sausage that is tapered on both sides. Bend the tips towards each other and place the vanilla croissants on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  4. Bake the tray with the vanilla crescents in the preheated oven for 12 minutes at 180 degrees. Then let the vanilla crescents cool and dust with vanilla sugar.
