The fruit of the pineapple is well sealed. Accordingly, cutting the pineapple is a bit of a challenge. You can read the best tips and tricks on how you can still succeed in this home article.
Cut pineapple with a knife – that’s how it works
If you only have a sharp household knife to cut the pineapple, you have to invest a little time:
- First, remove the crown of leaves and the stalk of the fruit. However, you should not dispose of the crown of leaves carelessly, because you can use them to grow your next pineapple yourself.
- Then stand the pineapple upright and cut it in half.
- Cut the two halves of the fruit in half again lengthwise in the middle.
- Then remove the center core from each of the four pineapple parts.
- The shell can now be easily removed. If the pineapple pieces are still too wide for you, halve them again and then cut off the peel.
Easily remove the flesh of the pineapple
You don’t necessarily have to cut the pineapple with a knife. There is another way to get the flesh of the pineapple. If you use a good pineapple cutter, you can quickly remove the flesh from the hard pineapple slices, which are ready to eat:
- First, remove the crown of leaves from the pineapple.
- Then place the pineapple cutter in the middle of the opening and turn it, similar to a corkscrew, to the bottom of the fruit.
- After that, conveniently pull the pulp out of the pineapple peel.
- Tip: You can use the pineapple bowl for decorative purposes, for example, to fill it with salad or something similar.
