At first glance, the egg-orange diet seems rather exotic. However, the results of its application are quite impressive – there are cases when a person, following this diet for a month, lost up to 15 kilograms!

Of course, as with any other diet, this does not mean that such a result is guaranteed to everyone, because the influence of other factors on the body cannot be ruled out, but if desired and in the absence of contraindications, the egg-orange diet can be used to bring the figure to a state close to ideal.

Features of the egg-orange diet

The egg-orange diet is based on special chemical reactions in the body when certain foods are combined, in this case, eggs and oranges. It should be remembered that it is absolutely impossible to exclude one of the products from the diet or replace it with some other, seemingly equivalent, product.

The effectiveness of this diet is primarily due to the fact that a person absorbs a minimum amount of carbohydrates, and the almost complete absence of salt allows you to remove a significant amount of fluid from the body, which is important for overall weight loss. Another advantage of this diet is the fact that a person usually does not feel an acute sense of hunger, which means that the likelihood of uncontrolled eating is quite small.

The benefits of eggs for weight loss

As you know, a chicken egg is a unique source of protein, which is so important for the body. In addition, the egg, and more specifically, its yolk, contains cholesterol and nutritious fats. There is no need to be afraid of cholesterol in this case – as a rule, the harm of cholesterol for humans lies in the internal cholesterol that is synthesized by the body itself. It is this internal cholesterol that leads to cardiovascular disease, although of course its consumption in food should also be controlled. In addition, chicken eggs contain a substance called lecithin, which prevents the accumulation of cholesterol in the body.

Speaking of vitamins, chicken eggs contain vitamins such as A, E, and D, which are essential for the human body, as well as omega-3 fatty acids. At the same time, an orange contains a large amount of vitamin C, as well as B, A, and PP.

While on the egg-orange diet, you need to drink a significant amount of fluids. Preferably, it should be plain, clean water, but sugar-free tea is also allowed. There are no contraindications for the use of milk, unless, of course, this product is generally harmless to a particular person.

Since there is no need to ignore vegetables on the egg-orange diet, except for potatoes (although it is advisable to eat them no earlier than an hour or two after the main meal), they should be cooked in water, not broth. Seasonings and spices can be added in almost any amount, but oil and other fats should be avoided.

An accelerated course of the egg-orange diet is also possible – within a week. Experts recommend eating one egg and one orange every day during this week. This is a fairly strict diet, but the results show that you can lose up to 10 kilograms of excess weight during this period.

Contraindications and warnings of the egg-orange diet

It should be understood that not everybody copes well with the simultaneous consumption of eggs and citrus fruits, so some discomfort is possible. You need to listen carefully to your body, and if it signals that eating eggs and oranges together is not suitable for it, you need to pause between eating an egg and an orange. Or you can give up this diet altogether.

In addition, as you know, both eggs and citrus fruits are strong allergens, so consulting a doctor before starting such a diet is essential.

Sports activities on the egg-orange diet are not contraindicated, moreover, they help to achieve a weight loss effect. However, it should be remembered that during this period, due to a lack of carbohydrates, the amount of energy decreases, and a person becomes more lethargic and drowsy, so the loads should not be overwhelming. And, in addition, physical activity can increase hunger, which can provoke a violation of dietary recommendations, so if it is difficult to fight this feeling at all, it is better to refuse physical activity altogether.

It is also highly discouraged to follow the egg-orange diet in case of exacerbation of chronic diseases. It should be remembered that the use of any diet is appropriate only if the body is not attacked by various diseases. And of course, pregnant women and nursing mothers are strongly advised against following the egg-orange diet.
