Farmers Bread

The perfect farmers bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Rye flour
  • 500 g Wheat flour
  • 2 packet Dry yeast
  • 2 pinch Salt
  • 2 pinch Sugar
  • 650 Milliliters Lukewarm water
  1. Mix the two types of flour, yeast, salt and sugar in a bowl. Pour in the water. Knead with the dough hook of a mixer until the dough separates from the edge of the bowl. Cover with a cloth and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  2. Then shape an elongated loaf with floured hands and place on a baking sheet with parchment paper underneath. Cover again and leave to rise for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Place a heat-resistant bowl of water in the bottom of the oven. Then the bread will not dry out. Brush the bread with water. Bake for about 45-60 minutes at 180 ° on the middle rack. Check with a needle in between that the bread is ready. When the dough no longer sticks to the needle, it’s good.
  3. Take out of the oven and let cool down. We ate a slice of lard straight away. Tastes delicious. Good Appetite.
  4. For a smaller bread, simply cut the ingredients in half.
