Freeze and thaw guacamole
Guacamole is a popular cream made from avocados, lemon juice, and other ingredients. It is often used as a dip. There isn’t always some left over after the meal. If it does happen, you can freeze the guacamole.
- To do this, fill the avocado cream into a freezer container or freezer bag.
- You can also spread the guacamole in ice cube molds. So you can later remove them very conveniently in small portions.
- Now put the selected container in the freezer and make sure not to leave the guacamole frozen for longer than about 4 weeks. Because not only does the taste decrease with increasing freezing time, but nutrients, color, and consistency are also lost over time.
- If you want to use the avocado cream again, take the desired portions or the freezer container out of the freezer about one night before eating. Put the frozen cream of avocados in the fridge.
- The refrigerator allows the guacamole to thaw slowly, which is better for texture and flavor. Once the avocado cream is soft again, stir it again before placing it on the table.
