Freezing Strawberries: How to Keep Them Aromatic and Durable

Freeze strawberries – this is how it works

Thawed strawberries tend to be mushy than fresh ones. They are therefore also ideal for making smoothies, puree, or jam afterward. Or you can use the fruit in strawberry water.

  1. Use fresh strawberries whenever possible and store them properly until ready to eat or freeze.
  2. Wash the strawberries either gently under a very gentle stream of water or in a bowl filled with water.
  3. Remove the stems and drain the strawberries well. You can also pat them dry with a cloth.
  4. Sort out mushy strawberries with bruises, these are not suitable for freezing.
  5. Now put the fruit individually on a plate and put it in the freezer for a short time.
  6. You can pre-freeze the strawberries so that they don’t stick together later and can also be thawed individually.
  7. Now put the berries in a freezer bag or container and put them in the freezer. The shelf life is about eight months.
