Ginger Lemonade: The 3 Best Recipe Ideas

Ginger lemonade is a refreshing and at the same time very healthy drink, which can also be varied very easily in terms of taste. In this article, we present three recipe ideas.

Grapefruit-ginger lemonade – this is how the soft drink works

The combination of ginger and grapefruit is very refreshing in warm temperatures.

  • First, peel ten grams of fresh ginger. Rub it roughly. Then mix the ginger with 100 grams of sugar.
  • Squeeze a large grapefruit and half a lemon. Mix in the juice of the citrus fruits. Fill up their juice with 200ml of water.
  • Put the diluted juice in a saucepan with the ginger-sugar mixture and boil everything together for three minutes.
  • Then let the syrup steep for about half an hour before straining it over a sieve and pouring it into a bottle.
  • Let it cool down a bit first.
  • Once the syrup has cooled completely in the bottle, place it in the fridge.
  • To make a refreshing drink from the syrup, put some in a glass and fill it up with three times the amount of mineral water.
  • Tip: The drink is even more refreshing with some crushed ice.

Lemon and ginger lemonade as a thirst quencher

This drink is a healthy way to quench your thirst in summer.

  • First, peel the ginger again and grate it coarsely. For this recipe, you need 50 grams of it.
  • Also, peel a lemon and cut the flesh into cubes.
  • Place the lemon and ginger in a blender. Add four tablespoons of honey and mix to a fine paste.
  • Add a liter of still water and mix the ingredients thoroughly again.
  • The concentrate now has to rest for an hour before you can pour it into a bottle over a strainer.
  • Store the concentrate in the refrigerator. If you want to enjoy the lemonade, put some of the concentrates in a glass and fill it up with three times the amount of still water.
  • Here, too, ice cubes provide additional freshness.

Cucumber ginger lemonade with fresh mint

This variant of ginger lemonade is also very refreshing. This time you don’t prepare a concentrate, but directly one and a half liters of lemonade.

  • For this, you need a piece of ginger about one centimeter thick, which you peel and grate coarsely.
  • You will also need three cucumbers in total. Wash two of them and cut them in half. Remove the seeds from the center of the cucumber with a spoon.
  • Finely puree the ginger and cucumber in a blender. Then press the ginger-cucumber puree through a sieve.
  • In a large bowl, stir together 8 tablespoons of honey, 100ml each of lemon and lime juice, and 2 teaspoons of chopped mint. Stir until the honey has completely dissolved.
  • Add the ginger-cucumber puree and mix thoroughly again. Add half a liter of mineral water.
  • The third cucumber is for the optics. To do this, halve the vegetables lengthways and cut thin strips of them with a sharp knife.
  • Line the inside of the glasses with these thin strips of cucumber. Add a few ice cubes and chopped mint leaves to the glass.
  • Pour the lemonade into these glasses, and you not only have a refreshing and healthy drink, but also a real eye-catcher for your guests.
