OPC and resveratrol promote good blood circulation and lower cholesterol levels. In addition, the radical scavengers are said to significantly slow down the aging process.
  • You should avoid the seedless grapes, which are also frequently offered. Not only are they usually overpriced – but they are also nowhere near as healthy since the health-promoting active ingredients OPC and resveratrol are mainly found in the seeds.

Grapes – a few facts about the fruit

Even if the term grapes has become colloquial, it is not entirely correct. Grapes are the fruits from which wine is actually made. All other grapes are referred to as table grapes. Both wine and table grapes are harvested from the vine.

  • The harvest of the grapes is also known as the vintage. Harvesting is not easy as the grapes are usually picked by hand.
  • In addition, the vines are mostly grown in so-called vineyards, which does not really simplify the harvest either.
  • Incidentally, in the past, the grapes were often thrown into tall bins and then trampled on with bare feet until they could be further processed for the wine.
  • You should pay particular attention to where you get the grapes from, as some of them are very polluted. Therefore, before enjoying, rinse the grapes well under running water.
