Health is More Expensive: Five Foods That Should not be Stored in the Refrigerator Door

There are certain rules for storing food in the refrigerator that most of us don’t usually think about

We are used to maximizing the capacity of the refrigerator. Many people put food not only on the shelves but also on the refrigerator door.

But few people know that there are things that should never be stored there.

Eggs need a stable temperature

It is recommended to put them on the top shelf. Also, do not store homemade sauces made with eggs (for example, mayonnaise) in the refrigerator door.

Chocolate – only at room temperature

The best place to store chocolate is dry but cool. If you put chocolate in the refrigerator, bubbles may form on it, which will affect its flavor and taste.

Fruits and vegetables

It is recommended to store fruits and vegetables in separate containers located in the lower part of the chamber. It is usually separated from the general part by the transparent glass and equipped with special trays. It is not recommended to remove this glass shelf, as it allows you to maintain a certain humidity in the containers and thus helps to preserve the freshness of fruits and vegetables.

Store vegetables only in special containers placed at the bottom of the refrigerator. Long-term storage of vegetables is possible, but they should be inspected regularly and any condensation should be wiped off.

Milk

Almost every refrigerator has milk, but many people make the same mistake. It is related to the storage of milk.

As a rule, we store milk in the most convenient and seemingly intended place – on the refrigerator door. However, this location in the refrigerator is not suitable for milk. The fact is that the temperature on the milk door does not match the conditions of its storage.

The temperature in the refrigerator door is always slightly higher. In addition, due to frequent fluctuations (opening and closing the door), milk is subject to constant temperature fluctuations, which also reduces its shelf life.

Milk can only be preserved if it is placed deep in the refrigerator. Only there will the product be stored for as long as indicated on the package.
