Hearty Beef Rolls

The perfect hearty beef rolls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 Beef roulades
  • 1 pack Serano ham
  • 4 Cucumber
  • Mustard
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 pinch Paprika spice
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 2 Glasses Red wine tart
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 Glasses Vegetable broth
  • 1 Glass Flour
  1. Season the beef roulade with salt and pepper on both sides. Then moisten all the roulades with paprika powder on one side and brush with mustard. Place the Serano ham on top of the meat. Quarter the onion and cucumber. I use a cucumber and a quarter of the onion for each roulade. Place the cucumber and onion on the edge of the roulade and roll up the meat. Fix with chopsticks or twine.
  2. Heat the oil in the pan or in the roaster. Sear the roulades on all sides, then deglaze with a glass of red wine. Add bay leaves and vegetable broth. Then let it simmer for 1.5-2 hours with the lid covered.
  3. For the sauce: Take the roulades out of the pan, mix a little flour with cold water in a glass and add to the liquid in the pan (to thicken the sauce) and stir. Add the stock and red wine, season with salt and pepper. Put the roulades back into the sauce, bring to the boil briefly and serve with a side dish. I serve potatoes, dumplings and / or red cabbage as you like.
