Mix the room temperature butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar until frothy. The sugar should dissolve in the process. Then add the eggs one by one and stir in. Mix the flour with the baking powder and salt and add to the other ingredients alternately with the milk, stirring constantly. Finally, stir in the room-warm mineral water while stirring until a viscous dough has formed. Then let the waffle batter rest for 20 minutes.
Heat the cherries from the glass with the juice in a saucepan. In the meantime, depending on the desired consistency, stir 1-2 tablespoons of vanilla pudding powder with a little cherry juice until smooth. When the cherries start to boil, the vanilla pudding powder mixture is carefully stirred in and briefly boiled.
The cream is whipped together with the dessert sauce until stiff.
For more pizzazz, you can also use kirsch, rum or red wine, which you boil with the cherries.
