How to Recognize Low-Quality Chicken: Expert Advice

Some time ago, scientists from the University of Texas conducted a study of more than 285 servings of chicken sold in grocery stores.

Chicken meat is considered versatile, as it can be used to prepare many healthy dishes. In addition, chicken has long been considered one of the healthiest and most dietary. The Polish publication interviewed experts and they explained how to recognize whether chicken fillet is spoiled or perfectly good.

Before buying meat, they say, it should be carefully examined. If a product has a lot of white fibers, it should never be bought. In particular, such formations indicate muscle disease. Also, fillets with white stripes on the surface contain 224% more fat and less protein than other parts of the chicken carcass.

In addition, scientists from the University of Texas 2016 studied more than 285 servings of chicken sold in grocery stores. Experts found that more than 96% of the fillets on store shelves were affected by the disease, and their declared nutritional value is extremely far from the real one. That is why such meat is usually artificially stimulated and is less nutritious and harmful.
