How to keep bread fresh for a long time – tips

  • If you bought warm bread – wait until it has cooled completely. Do not pack it while it is still warm, or the product will spoil quickly.
  • Different kinds of bread should be stored separately since each has its own microflora.
  • Do not cut the bread from the end but from the middle. This way you can extend its shelf life.
  • Put a quarter of a raw potato or apple next to the loaf. Then it will not spoil for a long time.
  • You can also put a small bag of salt next to the loaf. Salt draws moisture out of the bread and keeps it fresh longer.

Can I Keep Bread in the Fridge

Bread can be stored in the fridge for about 3 weeks, and in the freezer for a couple of months. However, for a long storage period, you will have to sacrifice the taste. Such bread will be dry and tasteless. Under no circumstances should you put bread with traces of mold in the fridge, otherwise the fungus will pass to other products.

How long does bread keep in the bread bin?

Bread can keep fresh for 7-10 days in the breadbox. Different kinds of bread should be stored separately or in cellophane bags. The bread box should be cleaned with vinegar once a week so that the bread stays fresh longer.
