Chicken is known for its high protein content and is a popular product among fans of proper nutrition due to its many beneficial properties. But healthy protein changes its properties when exposed to microwaves, so it is better to use yesterday’s chicken in a salad or make a sandwich.

Sour-milk products

The live lacto- and bifidobacteria contained in dairy products, which are beneficial to the body, quickly die when heated in the microwave. To preserve the taste and health benefits, simply take the fermented milk products out of the refrigerator half an hour before use.

Lettuce and other greens

Heating greens and spinach in a microwave oven entails a loss of taste and useful properties, not to mention the fact that the salad wilts “before our eyes”. As you know, lettuce contains nitrates, which, when heated in the microwave, turn into dangerous toxic substances and can cause poisoning.

Fruits and berries

Fruits and berries are a storehouse of vitamins and minerals, and they do not disappear even when frozen. And defrosting in the microwave kills valuable substances – most vitamins and minerals will simply disappear, and some turn into carcinogens that are harmful to humans under the influence of waves.


When honey is heated in the microwave to restore its original structure, the beneficial properties of the product are lost. To restore the liquid state of honey, it is better to use a water bath.


Mushrooms contain a lot of protein, the structure of which changes within a day after cooking. If you have mushrooms left over from yesterday, it is better to eat them cold, chop them into a salad, or heat them in the oven.

When heated in the microwave, the protein contained in mushrooms changes its structure and can be dangerous to the intestines.
