  • Kefir fruit salad: You will need 400 ml milk kefir (fermented for 1 to 2 days), 200 g hard cheese, ½ banana, 100 g grapes, 1 apple, 1 tin tangerines, 3 tablespoons sherry, 3 tablespoons raisins, roasted pine nuts, lemon juice, salt, and Pepper.
  • Chop the fruit into cubes and the cheese into sticks. Soak the raisins in the sherry and place them in a bowl with lemon juice and kefir. Garnish the salad with toasted pine nuts.
  • Breakfast drink with kefir: you need 200 ml milk kefir, grated orange peel, 1 piece of ginger, honey, and some cinnamon.

You can also use kefir as an ingredient for hearty main dishes. For example in these mashed potatoes with kefir cream.

  • You will need 500 g potatoes, 300 ml milk kefir, 50 g butter, 3 tbsp parsley, salt, and agar-agar.
  • Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water.
  • Heat the butter in a saucepan and fold it into the boiled and mashed potatoes with a pinch of salt.
  • Salt the kefir and add the chopped parsley. If the kefir is too runny for you, you can thicken it a bit with agar-agar.
  • Place the potato mixture on a deep plate and garnish with the kefir cream on top.

Kefir recipe for dessert

Kefir gives sweet desserts an exciting taste. For example, this kefir stracciatella cream is suitable as a dessert.

  • You need: 150 ml milk kefir, 200 g cream, 1 vanilla bean, 80 g sugar, 50 g dark chocolate, 150 g blackberries
  • Whip the cream until stiff and carefully fold in the kefir.
  • Scoop out the pulp of the vanilla bean and add it.
  • Crush the chocolate with a sharp knife and fold it into the cream.
