  • Arabica: The Arabica bean is popular worldwide. The bean, native to Ethiopia and growing at 800-1800 meters altitude, has a curved stigma on the flat side. The taste is aromatic and tastefully mild.
  • Robusta: Compared to Arabica, the Robusta is a rather inferior bean. This is because it can grow almost anywhere. This happens at an altitude of 300 – 600 meters. It is also quite small compared to Arabica and has a straight stigma on the flat side of the bean. In terms of taste, it is stronger and more bitter than other beans.
  • Excelsa: This coffee bean is relatively unknown because it has only been cultivated in Chad for around 100 years. It doesn’t need much to grow other than a little water and thrives in very shallow areas. The aroma is quite mild but still intense. This type of coffee has a very high amount of caffeine.
  • Kopi Luwak: This coffee bean grows in Indonesia and is considered the most expensive bean in the world. The beans are fermented. This process breaks down the bitter substances and the coffee ultimately contains less acid. As a result, the aroma is mild but full-bodied.
  • Liberica: This coffee bean has a very intense taste because it is very dark. It grows in the lowlands of West Africa. The sugar content here is quite low compared to other types of coffee.
