Scientists have found that overweight people drink milk more often. How can this affect their health?
Daily milk consumption can increase life expectancy. Scientists from the University of Reading have come to this conclusion.
As a result of research conducted by British scientists, based on information on the health status of more than 2 million people in the UK and the US, it was found that milk consumption reduces the risk of coronary heart disease by 14%. In addition, milk also helps lower cholesterol levels.
Experts noted that people who drink milk are more likely to have a high body mass index. However, scientists have not found a link between milk consumption and the risk of developing diabetes.
Vimal Karani, professor of nutrigenetics at the University of Reading, emphasizes that in cases where people had an increased body mass index with regular milk consumption, their levels of good and bad cholesterol were significantly lower. Despite the fact that milk contains saturated fat, it also contains 18 proteins and amino acids that normalize the functioning of the heart muscle and strengthen the walls of blood vessels.
