Make Wraps Yourself: The Best Tips and Ideas

Tortilla flatbread recipe

The Mexican pancakes form the basis for the wraps. For 8 tortillas you need the following ingredients: 250 g corn flour, 100 g wheat flour, 250 ml water, 2 tbsp olive oil, and 1/2 tsp salt. If you like it spicy, add some chili flakes to the batter.

  1. Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix until a smooth batter forms.
  2. Divide the dough into eight portions and place some flour on a smooth surface.
  3. Put one portion at a time on the surface and roll out the dough thinly with a rolling pin. The flatbread must not be too thick.
  4. Put oil in a pan and cook the dough on both sides. As an alternative to the conventional pan, you can also use a crepe pan.
  5. As soon as the flatbreads start to bubble, take them out of the pan.
  6. If you heat the wraps for too long, the batter will crumble.
  7. A good trick is to roll up the flatbread while it is still warm. So it doesn’t break so quickly when you process it.
