Ingredients
Dough:
- 3 Eggs
- 120 g Sugar
- 8 tbsp Water
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 190 g Flour
- 4 Apples
- Zest of one lemon and half a lemon
Meringue:
- 3 Egg whites
- 1 tbsp Sugar
Instructions
- Separating the eggs: Beat the egg whites until stiff and set aside.
- Mix egg yolks with sugar + water until frothy.
- Stir in lemon zest, baking powder + flour.
- Now fold in the stiffly beaten egg white.
- Grease the form, spread the batter on top.
- Peel the apples, remove the core and cut into wide slices.
- These are spread over the dough and then the cake comes in the oven at 180 ° C for about 40 minutes.
- Meanwhile, 3 more egg whites are beaten until stiff. If the egg white is stiff, add 1 tablespoon of sugar.
- After 30 minutes of baking time, the egg white is spread over the cake and baked for 10 minutes.
