Ingredients
 

Dough:

  • 3 Eggs
  • 120 g Sugar
  • 8 tbsp Water
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 190 g Flour
  • 4 Apples
  • Zest of one lemon and half a lemon

Meringue:

  • 3 Egg whites
  • 1 tbsp Sugar

Instructions
 

  • Separating the eggs: Beat the egg whites until stiff and set aside.
  • Mix egg yolks with sugar + water until frothy.
  • Stir in lemon zest, baking powder + flour.
  • Now fold in the stiffly beaten egg white.
  • Grease the form, spread the batter on top.
  • Peel the apples, remove the core and cut into wide slices.
  • These are spread over the dough and then the cake comes in the oven at 180 ° C for about 40 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, 3 more egg whites are beaten until stiff. If the egg white is stiff, add 1 tablespoon of sugar.
  • After 30 minutes of baking time, the egg white is spread over the cake and baked for 10 minutes.
