Nut Stollen

The perfect nut stollen recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the dough:

  • 500 g Flour
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 125 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Cinnamon
  • 2 Eggs
  • 125 g Butter
  • 250 g Quark
  • 3 tbsp Rum

For the filling:

  • 200 g Ground hazelnuts
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 8 tbsp Milk

For decoration:

  • 50 g Butter
  • Powdered sugar

For the dough:

  1. Mix the flour with the baking powder and sift into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and cinnamon.
  3. Add eggs, butter, quark and rum and knead everything well.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.

For the filling:

  1. Place the ground hazelnuts in a bowl.
  2. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar and milk and stir everything together.
  3. Spread the nut mixture evenly on the rolled out dough.
  4. Roll up the dough from the longer side and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 200 degrees top and bottom heat for 50 minutes.

For decoration:

  1. Melt the butter and spread it on the stollen immediately after baking.
  2. Sift icing sugar over it.
