Nutritionist Names Foods that Cause Bloating and Prevent Weight Loss

According to the famous nutritionist Elena Kalen, not all foods can be consumed without the risk of bloating and preventing weight loss.

There is a certain list of foods that greatly interfere with weight loss and can also cause discomfort, primarily bloating. Nutritionist Elena Kalen wrote about this on her Instagram page.

In her opinion, you should not abuse legumes and lentils. They contain oligosaccharides that provoke flatulence. Cabbage (white cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower), carrots, apricots, and prunes are a source of starch and sugar, which cause gas to accumulate in the intestines.

“Instead of fructose-rich fruits (such as melon), eat kiwi. It contains a lot of actinidine, a natural enzyme that helps break down proteins and prevent bloating,” the nutritionist wrote.

In addition, it is advisable to exclude sweeteners (aspartame, sucralose, and sorbitol) from the diet, which is poorly digested and does not benefit the body. Whole grain products are healthy, but they contain a lot of fiber, which contributes to the formation of gases.

“Drink more water and gradually accustom your body to fiber and whole grains. Fluid helps food move through the digestive tract and prevents bloating,” Kalen summarized.
