Oat Cure: Recipes and Other Tips

In order to successfully master an oat cure, varied recipes are the be-all and end-all. Eating the same porridge every day eventually becomes a bit exhausting over time. We have put together a few delicious recipes for you here.

The best recipes for your oat cure

During the oat diet it is permissible to consume a small amount of fruit or vegetables per day. This way you can diversify your diet.

  • With an oat diet, there are three meals a day. Approx. 75g of oat flakes in just under half a liter of water or vegetable broth are served. A few fruits and vegetables are also allowed. Oatmeal helps with weight loss and also lowers blood sugar. That is why it is often carried out by diabetics.
  • Instead of letting the oats soak in normal water, you can also use fat-free vegetable broth. This will also improve the taste.
  • You can lightly brown your oatmeal in a pan without oil before scalding. This will give you a nutty taste.
  • With an oat cure, up to 50g of fruit and up to 100g of vegetables are allowed daily. You can also refine your oatmeal in this way.
  • For a variant with fruit, boil the oatmeal in normal water and then swell for another 10 to 15 minutes. Then pour freshly squeezed lemon juice over it. Cut the strawberries and kiwi into bite-sized cubes and fold them into the oatmeal.
  • If you prefer the savory version, boil your oatmeal in vegetable broth. While everything is cooling, you can fold some spinach into the oatmeal. Blanch the broccoli and add it as well. You can also use spring onions for a kick. Season everything with salt and pepper.
  • Spices are also allowed in the oat cure. Be creative. Cinnamon, for example, goes well with sweet versions with fruit.

Tips for the perfect oat cure

If you keep your goal in mind, the somewhat monotonous diet will be easier for you.

  • Be sure to talk to your doctor before beginning an oat cycle. Acute illnesses should not be present before the start of the cure.
  • Drink enough. At least 2 liters of non-caloric beverages daily.
  • If you are diabetic, you should check your blood sugar levels frequently and keep in touch with your doctor.
  • Exercise is fine during your cycle, but don’t overexert yourself.
