Onion juice helps against cough – here’s how to make it
Onion juice relieves the urge to cough and helps with expectoration. And this is how you make your own onion juice:
- Cut onion into fine pieces.
- Boil the onion together with honey or sugar.
- Leave the juice for a while.
- Filter the juice through a strainer into a bottle or other container.
- The onion juice can be kept in the refrigerator for several days.
- If you have a cough, take a spoonful of it several times a day.
Make onion syrup – that’s how it works
Alternatively, you can also make onion syrup. That’s how it’s done:
- Cut onion into fine pieces.
- Place the onion in a sealable jar and add some honey.
- Seal the jar and leave it in a warm place overnight to allow the syrup to infuse.
- The next day, press the onion syrup through a sieve or cloth.
- If you have a cough, take a spoonful of onion syrup several times a day.
