Ingredients

  • 2 piece Pork schnitzel
  • 1 medium-sized Onion
  • 1 piece Garlic clove peeled and bumped
  • Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Caraway seed
  • 0,5 tsp Amchur powder (alternatively lemon peel)
  • 3 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 2 tsp Thyme (fresh or freeze-dried)
  • 2 tsp Marjoram (fresh or freeze-dried)
  • Pepper from the grinder
  • Salt

Instructions

Preparation and marinating

  • Cut the schnitzel into fine, even pieces so that everything can cook at the same time. Cut the onion into fine rings and cut the garlic into fine pieces or press briefly.
  • Put the onion rings and garlic, along with the spices and oil, in a container to marinate and stir everything together. Then add the meat and mix everything well. Leave to marinate in the refrigerator overnight, but at least for 4 hours.

preparation

  • Take the meat out of the refrigerator at least half an hour before roasting so that it reaches room temperature. To fry, put a little oil in a pan and then fry the meat over high heat. As soon as the meat has a nice color, turn it and let it cook. Coleslaw, french fries and of course tzatziki go well with the gyros!
