Pasta with Spicy Lentils

Ingredients
 

  • 500 g Pasta
  • 500 g Lentils
  • 2 Onions
  • 125 g Ham cubes
  • 1 can Pizza tomatoes
  • 1 L Vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Chili powder
  • Pepper
  • Hot paprika powder
  • Sambal Olek

Instructions
 

  • Cook the lentils in the vegetable stock until soft.
  • Peel and dice the onions and fry them in the oil with the diced ham until translucent, add to the lentils, stir in the pizza tomatoes, tomato paste and the spices, bring to the boil and simmer gently for another 10 minutes over a low heat.
  • Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente.
  • Pour the lentil sauce over the pasta and serve.
  • 5th tip; I like this dish, also very much sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
