Instead of buying sugary products from the supermarket, you can easily make your own peanut butter at home. We’ll tell you here how you can make the delicious, creamy mass with just two ingredients.

  • For a jar of peanut butter, you need around 200 grams of peanuts and some oil, it is best to use peanut oil here as well.
  • The first step is to toast the nuts. To do this, place the peeled peanuts on a baking sheet in the oven at 180 degrees for around 15 minutes. Then let them cool down a bit before continuing.
  • Next, place the toasted nuts in the food processor. First, these are chopped and then ground until a full-bodied mush is formed. Here you can choose how creamy the mass should be at the end. About two spoonfuls of peanut oil will help you to make the mush more liquid.
  • It is best to store the peanut butter in a tightly closed jar in a cool room. It keeps like this for about a month.

Crunchy mush

If you prefer your peanut butter with pieces, you can easily make this yourself. Ultimately, you only need one ingredient for this, namely the nuts themselves. For that extra taste at the end, you can of course always add salt, chili, or other flavor enhancers as you wish.

  • All you need for this are peanuts again. Either already roasted or you roast them yourself in the oven as described above. The oil can be omitted with this variant.
  • With 400 grams of peanuts, set aside about 70 grams and put them in a chopper. Only very briefly, of course, otherwise, the result may not be crunchy enough for you. Alternatively, you can cut them into rough pieces yourself with a knife.
  • Add the remaining 330 grams of roasted nuts to the blender, just like when making the creamy mousse, until the desired mass is obtained. In the end, add the roughly chopped pieces and mix them in for a few seconds.
