Oriental pleasure

Couscous is a traditional North African dish and is usually made from durum wheat. To get couscous, mix salt water with durum wheat semolina and grate it until the typical little balls form.

1:1 ratio

Ideally, you use the same amount of water as the gram size of couscous. It is better to take too much water than too little, otherwise, the beads will remain too hard. If you’ve used too much liquid, just grab a colander and drain off the excess water.

That’s how it works!

To prepare it, simply boil water and pour the hot liquid over the couscous. The same amount of water as a number of grams of couscous. This will cause the small beads to swell in a short time of 3-5 minutes. For a hearty note, you also have the option of boiling it up in a pot with vegetable broth and then letting it swell for about 5 minutes. Then simply add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season with a little salt. Now just mix and your couscous is ready.
