After preparing a yeast dough, it has to rise for a certain amount of time. You should note the following:

  • If you store the yeast dough in a warm place, you should strictly follow the time recommended in the recipe. This is usually 30 to 60 minutes.
  • As a rule, the yeast dough can be processed further once it has doubled in size.
  • If you want to let your yeast dough rise overnight, you can put it in the fridge to do so. If you choose this option, you should process it after 12 to 18 hours, but no later than after 24 hours.
  • If you let the dough rise too long, the dough bubbles will break and the dough will collapse. In addition, it gets a sour taste through stronger fermentation.
  • When it comes to that, you can’t save the dough. You have to throw it away and start a new yeast dough.
