Rösti Casserole

The perfect rösti casserole recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 800 g Potatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 150 g Ham cubes
  • 250 g Natural yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp Mustard
  • 200 g Grated cheese
  • Salt, pepper, nutmeg
  1. Peel and roughly grate the potatoes.
  2. Briefly squeeze out excess liquid from the rasp with your hands.
  3. Peel the onion and cut into fine cubes.
  4. Heat the butter in a pan and sweat the onion until translucent.
  5. Add ham and fry, then add the mix to the potatoes.
  6. Mix yoghurt, mustard and cheese together in a bowl, season with salt, pepper and freshly grated nutmeg and add.
  7. Put the rösti mix in a dripping pan.
  8. Bake the rösti casserole at 200 ° for approx. 50 minutes.
  9. We cover the surface too brown, if necessary with aluminum foil.
  10. Take out of the oven, cut into pieces and serve.
