Sandwich Cake

A hearty sandwich cake for a children’s birthday party is sure to go down well, is quick to make, and is a great eye-catcher.

12 servings

Ingredients

  • 800 grams of cream cheese
  • 150 grams of sour cream
  • 20 slices of sandwich toast
  • 1 large beefsteak tomato
  • 1 quarter cucumber
  • 100g Gouda, grated
  • 4 tbsp meat salad
  • 10 small cherry tomatoes
  • some parsley
  • some cheese, grated

Preparation

  1. For the sandwich cake, mix the cream cheese with the cream until smooth.
  2. Arrange 4 slices of toast on a work surface to form a large square and cut out a large circle with the cake ring. Repeat this process until all the toast slices are used up.
  3. Wash and thinly slice the tomato and cucumber.
  4. Arrange the four sandwich slices that have already been cut out in a circle and spread a thin layer of cream cheese on them. Top with tomato slices first and then with toast slices. Spread the next layer of cream cheese and top with cucumber and toast slices.
  5. Then layer the cake with cream cheese, grated Gouda cheese, toast, cream cheese, meat salad, toast, and cream cheese.
  6. Spread cream cheese all over the outer layer of the cake and top with the cherry tomatoes, grated cheese, and fresh parsley.
