Scientists Have Named the Best Bread for Weight Loss

A diet of whole wheat bread leads to a significant and safe reduction in visceral fat. Visceral fat – that is, the fat on the abdomen that surrounds vital organs in the abdomen – can increase the risk of chronic complications. Scientists have found that a simple change in bread can help fight it.

In particular, scientists have found that if you replace refined wheat bread with whole wheat bread, it will help you get rid of belly fat.

During the study, which lasted for three months, one group of people was given whole wheat bread and the other refined wheat bread. The group that ate whole wheat bread showed a decrease in visceral fat. At the same time, those who ate refined wheat bread showed no significant changes.

The researchers concluded that a diet of whole wheat bread resulted in a significant and safe reduction in visceral fat with a body mass index of ≥ 23 kg/m2.

Researchers have not determined why whole wheat bread helps reduce abdominal fat, but it is a source of soluble fiber. And fiber, in turn, contributes to weight loss.

Soluble fiber absorbs water and forms a gel that helps slow the passage of food through the digestive system. This helps to keep you feeling fuller longer, which means you eat less.

Scientists advise eating less processed sugars and complex carbohydrates. Instead, it’s better to include plenty of soluble dietary fiber in your diet, such as flaxseeds, avocados, blackberries, and Brussels sprouts.
