An improper diet provokes overweight, high cholesterol, hypertension, and diabetes. British scientists have established a link between certain foods and the risk of cardiovascular disease and early death.
“Most dietary recommendations are based on the nutrients in foods rather than the foods themselves, and this can be confusing for people. Our findings help identify specific foods and drinks that may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality,” explained study leader and member of the Department of Primary Health Care at the University of Oxford, Carmen Piernas.
The list of deadly products includes:
- chocolate and other sweets
- white bread and butter,
- jams and sugary drinks.
People who abuse these foods suffer from being overweight, high cholesterol, hypertension, and diabetes – even though they are physically active and do not smoke.
