Ingredients

  • 150 g Dried cranberries
  • 50 ml Orange juice
  • 500 g Flour
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 20 g Brown sugar
  • 180 g Cold butter
  • 1 Pc. Egg
  • 70 ml Cold milk
  • Lemon zest

Instructions

  • Pour the orange juice over the cranberries and let them sit for about 30 minutes to swell.
  • Mix the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together on a countertop.
  • Add the butter and the egg and chop the dough with a dough card or a knife until the butter is chopped up. The pieces of butter should still be visible. Add the lemon peel zest and cold milk and use your hands to join the dough together without kneading it too much.
  • Now roll out the dough about 2-3 cm thick on baking paper and cut out circles with a glass (approx. 4 cm ). Brush the scones with milk and bake them in the preheated oven at 200 ° C O / U for about 20 minutes.
  • Serve the scones with clotted cream and jam.
