Spicy Pea Spread

Ingredients
 

  • 500 g Peas, dried
  • 250 g Cream cheese
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 Pc Onion
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable broth, powder
  • 1 Splash Lemon, juice

Instructions
 

  • Soak the peas in 2.5 liters of water overnight.
  • Boil the soaked peas in water with the vegetable stock for about 20 minutes until soft. (Soda works wonders. ;-))
  • Drain the peas, let them cool, remove 2 tablespoons of peas and set aside and then puree the rest.
  • Add the finely chopped onion, garlic powder, cream cheese, oil, lemon juice and spices to the pea puree and mix until the whole is a smooth and homogeneous mass.
  • Mix the two tablespoons of peas into the spread and let them taste good!
