Ingredients

For 1 small bread:

  • 150 ml Milk
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 1 tsp Dry yeast
  • 350 g Wheat flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil

Instructions

  • Heat the milk with 75 ml of lukewarm water. Mix with sugar and yeast until the yeast has dissolved. Let the mixture swell for about 10 minutes.
  • Mix the flour with salt and add to the yeast mixture with the oil. Knead everything into a smooth dough. If the dough is too soft, knead in a spoonful of flour. Shape into a ball and cover and let the dough rest for 60 minutes.
  • Knead the dough vigorously again. Shape a bread and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush with 1 teaspoon of water or milk and cover and let rise for another 40 minutes. Set the oven to 190 ° C (fan oven: 170 ° C).
  • Place an ovenproof bowl of water on the bottom of the oven, brush the bread again with water or milk and bake on the middle rail for about 25 minutes. The white bread is ready when it sounds hollow when you tap it with a spoon.
