Sweet Hot Chili Sauce
The perfect sweet hot chili sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Base sauce:
- 2 tbsp Chilli flakes
- 1 tsp Cayenne, finely ground
- 1 tsp Ground cumin
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp Honey
- 250 ml Tomato juice
- 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 piece Pickled gherkins, in pieces
- 1 tbsp Potato starch
Additives, exchangeable according to taste:
- 2 piece Tomatoes, cut into pieces
- 1 tbsp Cherry jam
- 1 tsp Herbs of Provence or salad herbs, see my KB
- 1 tsp Lime juice
- 1 tbsp Curry powder, e.g .: in my KB
- 1 tsp Cocoa powder slightly de-oiled
- 2 tsp Vegetable pieces [e.g .: zucchini cubes, carrot cubes, beetroot]
- 1 piece Apple, diced
- 2 tbsp Cooking liquid [rice, potato, vegetable water, frying liquid]
- Chop the vegetables and, if necessary, herbs and fruit, measure everything else well and slowly bring to the boil in a saucepan and serve hot with French fries, grilled meat, sausages, meat loaf and other sauces
