For the first time I cook a salted caramel. To do this, I melt the sugar in a pan until a light-colored caramel mixture is created. Then add a tablespoon of butter & a pinch of salt. I spread that on the bottom of a baking pan.
Place the peeled and quartered apples on top of the caramel. Close together. I put the shortcrust pastry on top and put it in the oven.
After baking, the cake is turned inside out. That is, the bottom comes up. To serve you can also add a little caramel and / or enjoy the cake with whipped cream.
